How to fill the emptiness

“You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.” Psalm 63:1

Do you feel like something is missing? Like everything you do cannot satisfy this longing for more? How do you try to fill this emptiness? With material things? Money? Food? Fornication? Nothing is going to fill that void inside you. I once heard someone say “there is a God Shaped Blank inside all of us”.

Only God can fill that emptiness. Only God’s love and His Word and in relationship with Jesus Christ and asking for forgiveness can the healing begin.

Do you seek love, approval, acceptance from others? If you don’t receive it are you left feeling unhappy and miserable? This is not meant to come from others. You will find your true acceptance and love from God. He is meant to fill the emptiness and He wants  to. He is waiting for you to reach out to Him.

Ask yourself who or what do you seek to fulfill your happiness?

No matter how much money you acquire that emptiness is still there. No matter how many friends “like” you on Facebook it’s still there. No matter how many cars or shoes or clothes or movies, it’s STILL there. That is because those things will never fill it.

The hole is not shaped like money or clothes or food or drugs or lust it is shaped like God. Ask Him. Reach out to Him. He already knows what you need. Once you discover how much God loves you unconditionally, you can begin to do the same for others and help them in their journey to healing.

It is an indescribable feeling once you understand how much God loves you. It is like a warm light fills your entire body and you feel whole and content and loved. Then a fire in your belly rises and you find this passion inside you to share this love, to share God’s Word. You want everyone to feel God’s love. You may not have all the answers to all the questions but you know that you are not alone in this journey. God is with you and you can handle any storm with Him by your side. You want everyone, EVEN those people that cause you hurt and pain, you want them to feel whole again because someone whose emptiness is filled with God’s love will not treat others so poorly. You learn to truly love others as God loves you.

Is it a struggle? Yes! Does it require an effort all day, everyday? Yes! Read your bible, pray and connect with others.

I pray that all of you feel this love❤️
Psalm 23:1-6

A Psalm of David. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. ..
