There is someone out there longing and searching for more. They have tried to fill all the emptiness with worldly things and are realizing this cannot be the way. Then they see you. They see your light shine so bright. You appear to them as someone who may know, who may know God.
What if someone approached you, who was on the verge of being a believer. They know there is a God but they do not KNOW God yet. They feel intimidated by others with so much knowledge that they don’t even know where to start. Yet they find the courage and they can see your faith written in your eyes and they ask you about that faith. What do you say? How can you find the right words to help to lead them towards a thirst for more.
You ask yourself, is it my job to win souls for God? Yes! If you feel called to. Yes! If someone approaches, share your faith, share the gospel!
1 Corinthians 9:19-23
For though I am free from all, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win more of them. To the Jews I became as a Jew, in order to win Jews. To those under the law I became as one under the law (though not being myself under the law) that I might win those under the law. To those outside the law I became as one outside the law (not being outside the law of God but under the law of Christ) that I might win those outside the law. To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some. I do it all for the sake of the gospel, that I may share with them in its blessings.
You can help them by sharing your testimony of how God has transformed your life. When did you become a believer? When did you know and feel God’s love? How has He changed your life? You can share the gospel with them. Know that this cannot be forced it is their choice in the end but if they are approaching you and asking you, then the curiosity and hunger is already there. Lay a foundation they can choose to build from.
“And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.”
Immerse yourself into God’s Word. Know God. Pray to God and ask him to guide you through this. To give you the right words but you must hide God’s Word into your heart so the scripture is in you when this day comes.
Here are some great verses to get you started
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
Let them know that God has a plan for them and it is bigger and better than we can imagine but we must ask God to forgive us and accept Jesus as our Savior and Lord.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Share the story of Jesus with them. Tell them all that He has done for us. He was without sin but He died for our sins so that we may live as He lives with the Father. The story of who Jesus is and what He did for us is so powerful. To know that we are so loved that He chose, yes He chose to die for us.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
God wants us to come to Him with our worries and troubles. He wants to take them away from us and give us peace as any parent longs to do for their children.
1 Peter 1:3
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,”
Even though we are born into this world like Adam, who brought sin into this world which equates to death. We are given the gift to be born again in Christ, who conquered death and washed away our sin to give to us eternal life.
Then if they are willing pray with them. Prayer can be so powerful and more people praying together He is there!
“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them”
If you are uncertain what to pray. Pray from your heart. If you cannot find the words, then use the words the Lord has taught us to pray in the Lord’s Prayer.
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth,
As it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
The power, and the glory,
For ever and ever.
You have Faith, you have God’s Word
Ask God for the strength and courage that you may need. Share your faith with all who will listen!
God Bless you in your journey ✝
