Words are powerful

Gossip, bullying, putting others down

All these things need to stop! How we speak to one another can affect people either in a positive way or negative. Guess what you get to choose which way that is! You choose whether you uplift someone or put them down. You choose whether to react to their anger with anger or love. I know it can be difficult. I get it! I have been there when someone makes you so angry or hurts you and you just want to hurt them back to feel better but as Christians we must be conscious of how we treat others. Setting an example for others to seek Christ through seeing our actions. I pray for all those affected negatively by others. Those that feel put down, bullied or the subject of gossip. Realize those people attacking you have been hurt, put down, bullied and they have lost their sense of power so they seek to hurt us hoping it will make them feel better. It will never really make them feel better. They will never feel whole until they seek and find God. I’m not excusing their behavior by any means! No way! They should not treat others that way. If you are in any danger of people like this seek help for sure! All I’m saying is let’s pray for our protection and pray for them to find healing. Let’s react with love. Let’s show them that know matter how much hate they throw at us let’s throw love to them. We may be the only example of faith they encounter.
Heavenly Father help us to Stop gossip and protect us from those trying to hurt us.
Psalm 140

A Prayer for Protection[a]

140 Save me, Lord, from evildoers;

    keep me safe from violent people.

2 They are always plotting evil,

    always stirring up quarrels.

3 Their tongues are like deadly snakes;

    their words are like a cobra’s poison.

4 Protect me, Lord, from the power of the wicked;

    keep me safe from violent people

    who plot my downfall.

5 The proud have set a trap for me;

    they have laid their snares,

    and along the path they have set traps to catch me.

6 I say to the Lord, “You are my God.”

    Hear my cry for help, Lord!

7 My Sovereign Lord, my strong defender,

    you have protected me in battle.

8 Lord, don’t give the wicked what they want;

    don’t let their plots succeed.

9 Don’t let my enemies be victorious;[b]

    make their threats against me fall back on them.

10 May red-hot coals fall on them;

    may they be thrown into a pit and never get out.

11 May those who accuse others falsely not succeed;

    may evil overtake violent people and destroy them.

12 Lord, I know that you defend the cause of the poor

    and the rights of the needy.

13 The righteous will praise you indeed;

    they will live in your presence.

Proverbs 20:19

He who goes about as a slanderer reveals secrets, Therefore do not associate with a gossip.
Psalm 34:13

Keep your tongue from evil And your lips from speaking deceit.
Ephesians 4:29

Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear.
